Amazura Concert Hall

“The Neutekraker Suite,” a traditional holiday performing arts theater project with a “How Queens Gets Down” twist, will preview on Ujamaa - December 29th at Amazura Concert Hall in Jamaica, NY directed by Flushing Town Hall’s Arts Grant for Queens Program 2022 awardee and LIFE Camp Creative Arts Lab Director, Kerri Edge. In observance of Kuumba, the full length work in progress uses Tchaikovsky’s historical soundtrack, enhanced by contemporary sounds and the influence of George Balanchine’s storytelling. A diverse cast of community residents and artists tell a story of a legacy family from Addisleigh Park and their journey to find the true meaning of Kwanzaa.

The intergenerational and multicultural cast presents the new work in preview format for an audience of family, friends, community partners and prospective funders in an effort to garner support for future
LIFE Camp, Inc. Creative Arts Lab programs and Collaborative
Queens World Art for Change projects.
