CLASSES

Our Annual Program runs parallel to the school year and concludes in a showcase performed on a professional stage for friends and family. Dancers of all levels and ages can register for Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop/Majorette, Jazz, Modern, African Dance and more!

In addition to working on technique each week, our dedicated faculty strive to nurture and develop a

young dancer's creative side.

BALLET (Classical)

Emphasis is placed on correct body alignment, awareness of musical phrasing and performance, knowledge of classical ballet vocabulary, and understanding of training principles.

AFRICAN DANCE

A survey of the cultures, lifestyles and traditional dances of West Africa with focus on various movements, step patterns, rhythms, forms, styles, and accompaniments used in traditional West African Dance.

MODERN DANCE

Classical modern and contemporary dance techniques, originated by distinguished dance artists, are studied on progressive levels as a dynamic and developing art form.

HIP HOP & MAJORETTE

Hip hop is a fusion dance genre that combines a variety of freestyle movements. Classwork consists of a cardio and strength building warmup, stretching, and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations that cultivates skills in coordination, syncopation, musicality and self-expression.

TAP

Tap combines rhythm and coordination to make music with the feet and body. Students will learn the basics of tap technique and musicality.

JAZZ DANCE

Jazz incorporates foundations of proper body alignment, technique, flexibility and classic jazz dance vocabulary with an upbeat rhythm-based style.
