OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Like all arts organizations, in March 2020 the pandemic caused ESOTA to abruptly halt operations, and switch to remote learning. Students and faculty quickly learned how to navigate technology. In July 2020, ESOTA launched a unique summer session. Classes were held via Zoom for four short weeks. The fifth week was spent filming and the first virtual production was held. The show must go on!

ESOTA marked a quarter of a century of dance with 4 short “Remote & Blended Learning” sessions. Students toured the city and filmed in various city and state parks, Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning and the Jamaica Performing Arts Center. Additionally we held screenings of virtual performances for Jack & Jill of America, Mount Sinai Hospital, United Methodist Church of Hartsdale, AARP, Local 372 and Council Member I. Daneek Miller.

As New York City reopened, ESOTA kids were excited to participate in the Juneteenth Celebrations for the Southampton United Church and Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman.

During 2021-2022 we returned to in-person instruction at a new location. It felt so good to be back in the classroom working with young people.

We are excited to see what Season 28 has in store for us, as we continue to keep health safety in the forefront of dance education.

ESOTA HEALTH SAFETY POLICY

ESOTA's COVID-19 Safety Policy will continue to be reviewed and updated in accordance with guidance from the CDC, NYS Department of Health and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

At the present time, the Mayor rescinded the Executive Orders requiring student vaccinations in New York City. We therefore do not require student vaccination for enrollment.
